RELOCATING HOMES & HOUSE REMOVAL
WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF DOING A relocatable house PROJECT?
Houses On The Move continuously has a stock of quality relocatable houses for sale.
We’re happy to provide advice based on our experience for anyone exploring the option of purchasing a relocatable home.
Purchasing a relocatable home provides a very cost-effective option for first home buyers, developers and investors.
From the first planning chat, to navigating council consents, through to project delivery, we will work closely with you to ensure a smooth and successful outcome.
Step 1
Choose your house
Once you have decided on the relocatable house you want, Houses On The Move would like to view the site that your new home will be relocated to. We’ll check the access and any possible concerns on the site.
We will work with you to compile and submit your building consent application to council.
Step 2
DECIDE IF YOU WISH TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE HOUSE
If you’d like to make additions or alterations to your relocatable home, we can include these changes when drawing up the plans. It’s best to consider these at this stage, even if they’ll be added later so they can be included in the building consent.
Step 3
a geotech report
Once your site plan is drawn, a geotech report is required.
A geotech report determines the soil stability on your site and identifies any potential concerns where further engineering may be needed for foundations works.
Step 4
a resource consent
A resource consent is usually required to relocate a dwelling onto a site. We will confirm whether your local council requires one and take care of this for you.
Step 5
PREPARING YOUR SITE FOR A RELOCATABLE HOME
Before your relocatable home can be delivered, a few things need to be completed:
The house site must be pegged according to the approved plans.
Clear, unencumbered access to the site is required, which may involve removing trees. fencing, or obtaining neighbour approvals.
Insurance arrangements need to be in place. We’ll guide you through this.
Safety fencing installed.
Once all consents are in place, your new relocatable home will be delivered and lowered onto its foundations. You can then begin moving in or renovating.
